    Windows XP auto shut-down programs

Does anyone know of any programs that you can set for a certain time to shut your pc down?

The problem arises because I quite like to listen to a couple of radio stations on the net while I'm going to sleep, namely:

    www.protonradio.com

    &

    http://www.psychedelik.com

However both stations have a tendancy to wake me up at daft o'clock in the morning, and I don't take kindly to being woken in that way. So to avoid any annoyances, I am looking for a program that I could set to shut my system down sometime after I estimate my passing into sleep.

    Any ideas?

There's the scheduler, but I'm not sure on what to schedule to shut the system down.

If you are running XP you can use the built in shutdown fuction in conjunction with the task sceduler. Do shutdown /? in a DOS window for a list of the options you can use with it.

EDIT:/ Oops just noticed that your topic title says your running XP ops:

    Slight change of topic

I could never get my scheduler to work, could it be because I don't have a password?

Use the WIZMO tool then use the task schedule to run the exe at the time you require. There easy!

Shutdown.exe from the Windows NT4 Resource Kit works just fine with Windows XP. Copy it to c:\windows\system32 or anywhere else that is in your path.

I would schedule it to do a:

    shutdown /L /Y /C

This is quite destructive and will close all open apps without saving anything.

If you don't have access to the Res Kit or MSDN let me know and I'll email you the file, as I'm an MSDN subscriber.
