    Today's 30 minute mod is.......

    ... Switchable Traction Control.

Absolute doddle to do - thanks to all those (around the world!!!) who pioneered this mod and posted their findings/method on the wonderful Astra-Sport.

    Thanks people

Just gotta finish off painting the console so I can mount the switch properly, rather than having it flopping around the passenger footwell lol.

Cool Geoff. I've got all the bits to fit it in my car. Just can't decide to wait for my warranty to run out or not.

Did you use the Vauxhall wiring loom, or the method in the How to.... in the tech section?

Urm..... pics? (they may help me)

A bit of both - used the wiring loom (once VX finally got one to the dealer lol) and followed the how to for a bit - a bit of a pick and mix really.

Pix wise, eeeer sorry I wasn't actually planning on doing it today and I was only having a looksee to find where the elusive pin 31 was etc. As usuallly happens , before I knew the modding beast within me came out and it was done  It would be difficult to photo because the spare grommin in the bulkhead is not to accessible with a camera but it is easy to get your hand to.

Should we ever both get to same meet, we could sort it out there - if you can do the Veccy inlet pipe this is a breeze.

As long as you use the Genuine VX bits (easier anyway) I doubt if they'd even notice.

If you need any more gen gis a PM

Cheers Geoff, it's not how you did it i wanted to see.

It was the switch in the footwell.

I know were the grommet is

I assume getting to it is easier from the drivers footwell.

I may have a go tomorrow. Sod the warranty!

How can fitting a Vauxhall part to a Vauxhall car invalidate a warranty. My Vauxhall dealers haven't got a clue, as my car is the only SRi Turbo they service they think it has it as standard, just like it's ugly half brother the GSi

Keif - thread the loom through from the cabin side. The grommit is behind the fuse panel. Push the grommet right through the hole (into engine bay) and then pull it back to sit properly grommit style.

Drop the cardboard panel above the pedals, remove the ashtray and TC switch panel -the route of the cable should then be self evident to the back of the switch. Witre the grey cable to the back of the ciggy lighter light feed

Engine bay - the only diff bit is getting the new contact into the connector block - brute force is required, no other way really.

Tidy up the cable route with zip-ties and job done.

Don't know if that answers your question, but hope it helps
