    stupid question regarding sump plug

just come to do an oil change, i have had a good look at the sump plug which is a torx head, looks very worn as if the previous owner has been rounding a bit!!!!!! any advice on how i can prepare it proir to getting my biggest brace out? i have sprayed it with WD40 already? or is it a case of grin and bare it ?

Go buy a new one first to replace the knackered plug - or you may have an even worse problem next time.

In extrem cases you might end up welding a bolt to the damaged plug in order to get it out but always make sure you get a new one ready before you start work and don't forget a new sealer ring aswell.

a good pipe wrench will shift it, as others said new parts at the ready and seal
