    Annoyed big time

I went and bought a pair of 'laser-blue' halogen bulbs for the headlights today in an effort to replace the awful yellowy ones that were in there before. £20 for the pair.
Well, the packaging claims 'blue-white colour for that hi-tech look', well I imagined the type of colour you get on the new SL Mercedes etc., but after changing them and switching the lights on . . . . they look almost the same! They're the correct ones, both wattage and fit, yet there is practically no change. To make matters worse, because they've been used they don't want to give me a refund!
What do you reckon I should do? Do those 'blue-white' claims ever live up expectations, or is that the reserve of Xenon (?) bulbs only?

I'll have a look around for those and continue arguing for a refund. Still pretty p**sed of with it anyway. What happened to the trade descriptions act?

Well I got the ebay Jap ones - 5100k or something, and yes, they are a great colour, but they are hopeless in lighting up the road. Put my Philips Blue Vision Ultra back in and now I can see where I'm going.

You'll need the 100W output to get the same level of light, as the blue coating robs the brightness.

Where's the cheapest place for the Ring bulbs?

I'm afraid you're expectations were way too high!

As has often been said in other threads about this, you are not going to get a £5-600 Xenon headlight look for £30-40. Things just don't work like that, unfortunately!

The best ones i've found are the PhilipsBlueVision. they are very white, and far better than the standard ones that come with the Astra.
