    Servicing!

After a lenghty conversation about when my service was due with where I bought the vehicle, i decided that if I wanted to keep any warrenty I would have to go with the 10,000 or one year route.
So today Vauxhall had the car foe its 2nd service even though its just bordering 6000 miles.
This has cost me the pricely sum of 181.40 so not to bad I thought, what about the others of you? [/b]

I work for Vauxhall, funnily enough in a the service department.

We would only carry out a full second service if the vehicle is at the mileage limit for the service (40000). It looks like they have carried out the mileage limit service which is why that is so expensive, We would have carried out second annual service not to milage which would have set you back about £115.

Make sure for that price they have changed brake fluid, spark plugs, pollen filter, fuel filter, air filter and completed your second year onward mobility pledge (2nd year AA cover, you are enititled to three years from purchase).

No in the service book it says no to changing the sparks, and brake fluid, batteries for control. only yes to the fuel and pollen filter. i asked them to leave the air filter as have replaced it myself.

They charged 98.00 for the service itself and another 25.00 odd for oil and the others and then vat of course.

I did think as it did have a very low milage(as they were told when booked in) it may have reduced it a bit as obviously some things don't need changing.

It was cheaper than with renault for a 172.

Seems expensive to me mate, did they even remove your wheels?

Did you get a complete technicians report?
