    Pipercross Air Filter

    Hello all,

I've finally ordered a replacement air filter for my mk2 1.6. It's just a direct replacement for the standard doughnut shaped card filter.
Am I likely to notice any change in perfomance or induction noise?
I'm also thinking of running a cold air feed into the system but I'm not sure where to run this to . . . near the front grill would seem the obvious place but won't it suck in water if there's say spray on the road from other cars? Anyone got any suggestions on how to get around this?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hello,
Should notice the engine to be a bit more responsive, and a little noisier, you'll get used to it quickly though.

Cold air feed, I know on the GTE, the feed goes down and under the front wing.
If yours does not, maybe worth looking in a scrappy for one.

Don't worry about water getting in, as long as you don't drive through deep puddles and submerge the intake, it should be fine.

Thanks. At the moment the feed just sits above the manifold.
I shall have a look around. Presumeably if I stick an extension pipe on the intake (and it's equal to or greater than the diameter of the current intake hole, hence no restriction) then I can run it anywhere really. Would a length of rubber hosing do, secured with jubilee clips or something?
