    Intercooler en-route

Just ordered my Intercooler from Courtenay, should be here in the next week or so. (initially phoned up Regal as Courtenay were on their lunch, no discount off the intercooler (despite saying I was a VXLSCC membe), guy said thats it right at the bone - aye nae bother. Called up Courtenay, 5% off, non in stock but they should be in soon - better service from Courtenay me thinks (given that both companies advertise what is basically the same item at the same price £549)

Why are you going for the courteney one, thought they had a big pressure drop?

There is a slight difference in the kits.

I have seen them both sat next to each other, and the Courtenay one doesn't come with new piping that goes around the back of the radiator. IT reatins the normal 40mm piping, rather than getting replaced with larger 50mm.

Identical IC's though, no doubt about that !

They do have a pressure drop but its still going to keep the charge cooler than it was. The only real alternative route is the Projekt Opel FMIC, and theres no-way Im cutting the front bumper to shreds to fit it.

Dave the projekt one will fit and you should have to cut too much . But it costs a bit too much really .

The Courtenay & regal Intercoolers are the same, they are both made by Pace. Regarding the pressure drop, this is pure here say. After back to back tests with the original it has been proved that the drop is neglegable, but the drop in temperature for the charge more than out weighs the tiny weeny pressure drop.

Also the 50mm pipe inlet on the regal IC does'nt do anything either. Courtenay used to offer the 50mm version but it does'nt do anything.

The projekt Opel FMIC is built by Delta in Switzerland. Projekt is a Germany re-seller.
