the door trim pushes up to release it from the window sill and it comes away in one unit

The trim at the top and be taken off on its own. Use a flat screwdriver and pry it off. If you put a cloth under the door panel it will stop the screwdriver marking it. The trim is held in with clips that I never bothered to replaced after taking mine off and there has never been any problem. Just be careful when removing it that you don't get it started and then just pull the rest of it up and it will bend and trist. You need to pry it up the whole way along.

This will leave the panel easier to remove and less chance of scratching the window when you are pushing it up to take it off.

    Hope this helps.
