    how is it fitted?

    You have to take the old one apart, then bond the new top on.

    so all you did was take off the 2 black bits and sand them down so the whole side is level and glue it in right?

    Just want to make sure so i can try to avoid messing it up and having no cap at all.

    Well I just sliced the lugs off.
    The araldite bonded really strongly. It sets within 10 minutes, I held it in place with selotape !

    Depending on your existing cap, you may have one that fits in the recessed circle on the new cap, that would be much tidier.
