    Set up help

    Can any of you guys help a mate of mine. Heres the beef:

    ok i want to ask how to connect an in car dvd player to my sound system

    i have a clarion head unit with pre outs but no pre ins or aux in
    the dvd player has 1 set of pre outs and 1 set of pre ins

    currently my head unit is connected to my sub amplifer and the signal is passed on from that amp to the 2nd amp powering the 6*9's

    the head unit has 2 sets of pre outs, 1 set for rear, and 1 set for front
    Ive just C+P'd from MSN so appologies if ive missed any important info ops:

    Mmm. . .

    Is the DVD a HU Din one ?
    If yes, then:

    He could use that as the main HU,
    with the pre out going to the amps, the same as they are from the clarion.
    He could then take the output from the clarion (thats currently going to the amps) and send that to the DVD Input.


    If the DVD is not a HU one:
    You need to find out if the clarion can accept an auxilliary input.
    Then plug the DVD into that.

    cheers C00 i passed that on - here's what he says:

    yeh, its not a head unit one, but it is din sized, i could do that, however, i will lose some of the adjustablilty i get with my clarion, and also the front speakers wont work as they are not amplified, they come from the head unit. How would i find out if it can accept an aux input

    Look in the manual, or search the web with Model number.

    Another method is an FM Modulator, but I think you would lose clarity and quality of sound from the DVD.
