    Wet Floor On Astra G's

I have now owned a few Astra G's, and most of the models I owned have had wet floor problems! Some how water is leaking in or it could be off when you climb in with wet feet and the floor soaks it all up. But the thing is that it stays wet as the foam on the floor is holding all the water . I had this problem on 3 of my Astra G's so far. Today I stripped a Y reg Astra and the carpet seemed fine until I got to the foam near the top where your feet sit when driving and the foam was soaked. This will start rotting the floor after a while.

A good way of checking your Astra G for a wet floor is by looking at the floor numbers on the drivers side floor area, remove the plastic cover and stick your hand under the floor carpet, if it's dry it could be wet further up? Thats where the Y reg Astra was wet further up.

Did you check it good? It's strange how I have had so many of them, my pals estate car had a wet floor, my V reg diesel had a wet floor, my 3 door black G had a wet floor, and this Y reg one I stripped today had a wet floor but further up on the foam section? Mad  The estate G was not accident damaged neither was the white diesel one I had.

I am not saying all G's have wet floors but a few others will probably have them, I changed the carpet in my black G and what a pain it was to change lol.

I have a wet floor on my '53 plate Astra G (3 door). Driver's side only is soaking! I've removed the seat and the foam is all sponged with water.

Are there any common places for leaks? I tried doing a water test with a hose but couldnt see any coming through.

    Anyone got some advice?

Had this problem on my old MK2 - and it was the door seal not fitting correctly.

New door seal - dry car
