    Engine Management Light?

I have just bought an Astra Sri 2.0 16 valve (V reg 2000 model) and I have my Engine Management Light stuck on I bought the car from a salvage yard so it's been standing for a while. The battery was flat so we put the jump leads on and tried to start the car, but the management light was flashing and stopping the car from starting. I then pressed the remote open and close and the management light stopped flashing, allowing the car to start. But when driving the car, the management light is staying on. Thanks for any info on this matter. Mark

I could be completely wrong here but from my experience, whenever the light is on steady, it means that something isn't connected somewhere in the engine bay. Like a vacuum pipe or something as simple as that.

However, the fact that you mentioned that it was flashing is concerning. I think your best bet is to find someone with a tech 1 and get it plugged in to have a look.

It was only flashing because the alarm system needed turned back off as it was flat then we give the car battery some life again, once I used the remote to turn on the alarm and turn it off again the management light stopped flashing . I will have a look under the bonnet for any plugs loose. Thanks
