Busted! And I'm not talking about three talentless tits!

Got busted tonight after work speeding. The bitch reckoned I was doing 67 in a 30 which is bollocks like, but I was speeding.

She gave me the option of either going to court and getting butt-rushed, or accepting the penalty of 3pts and £60, so I took the penalty.

On getting home and checking out the ticket out, I think they've cocked up big style. First of all, they've given me an HE50. What the feck is an HE50? I thought a speeding offence was an SP30...

Then in offence detail they've put "Exceeding 30mph". The location of offence which they have used is actually a 40 zone...

What's your guys thoughts or advice?

I dont think there is much you can do now as you have accepted the penalty.

I've never heard of an HE50 and its not listed on the DVLA site.

    http://www.dvla.gov.uk/drivers/endor...ffence%20Codes

For 67 in a 30 you could have been looking at a ban for double speed so if you have only got 3 points and a £60 fine you have got off lightly.

Yeah but I accepted the penalty because it was either that or go to court and face legal costs and court costs which is what I was threatened with.

They can't do me for exceeding 30 in a 40. I've even shown one of my mates who is a policeman, and he thought it was pretty laughable, although he can't really say too much on the situation coz he doesn't know where I was. He just suggested I get a solicitor to write a letter to the police advising them to withdraw the charge in order to save my highlighting of an embarrassing mistake made by an officer.

I'd still like to know what an HE50 is like.

I'd say take the fine! I'd personally just pay it, because that's a pretty light penatly, IMHO

Are you sure they weren't con artists?!

Never heard of an HE50 and at 67 in a 30 you'd be banned instantly and have your car towed 100%!

Sounds to me like a bit of a blunder on their part.

    I've just been on Tesco insurance and I can't find a HE50

Only and SP30 can be dealt with by a fine at the roadside. I'd say they screwed up somewhere.

Don't push it though, as stroppy coppers are in the habit of stitching you up later by doing 'spot checks' and all that nonsense

Nah there's plenty of other fines at the roadside you can be given.

sticky situation like, if it was me, i'd get my solicitor to have a look at it.

thats the main problem I'd say, what do you tell the insurance company?

they mightve used the wrong bit o paper and HE50 might turn out to mean serial killer or sumthin :?
