    Centre Console rattling

My car is only 4 weeks old and the centre'ish console seems to be making a faint but very annoying rattling noise.

The thing is the new Corsa I had did the same in cold. I have been told even Jags and Astons rattle in the cold after time, but it's really begining to bug me to put it politely, has anyone else experienced this and if so have they managed to fix it?

It's driving me up wall please help

i have the same problem and it really p***es me off. I worked out that if you wedge a very small peice of paper or similar in between the centre console and the dash at the very top of the console (in the middle, under the window) it tends to sort it out. the trick is to stop the rattle and make the peice of paper invisible cos that p***es me off just as much as the rattle itself ops:

    Hope this helps.

Yeah I get a sort of creaking noise sometimes but my head units wedged in that well I can't for the life of me get it back out to have a go at sorting the rattle!

I managed to stop the centre consol from rattling by using the soft mastic you get for car speakers. It is strong enough to hold the console in place but doesnt go hard. I took the console off and put blobs of mastic round the top where the clock is and aslo a couple of blobs level which where the bottom of the air vents are. This seemed to stop it.

i know what the problems is, ive seen it quite a few times at work when people complain about the sqeaks etc.

it can be resolved by removing the center console and using some anti creeking tape along the touching edges. this elimanates this.

most dealerships should be able to do the work or you could goto a bodyshop they maybe able to supply the tape

I thought mine was the loose change in the ash tray, this solved it for the time being. However when I had my handsfree kit fitted, they drilled into the side of the dash (above the glove box), now I too am having the rattling problem. However its nothing unbearable as I normally dont notice it, or I just make the music louded.
