    mk2 Astra Wiring Problem

    Hi,

I've got a problem trying to wire a switch in onto the dashboard from the engine bay on my mk2 astra (1991 GL if it matters):
I'm trying to run a simple low-voltage electric cable from the engine bay to the dashboard. How do I pass the wire between the two? I can sort the wire once it's in the 'cabin', but getting it there is the problem. I can see no way through for the wires, but there must be somewhere.
I can post pictures if it'd help, but I just can't find a way through.
    Thanks,

    Rob

I think I've sorted it. I'll drill a hole right next to where the power cables to the dashboard enter the cabin, then seal it up when the wires are in place. I don't want to risk removing the rubber cup around the existing wire cable as it's a bit old and brittle and no doubt Vauxhall will charge an extortionate price to replace it.
Anyway, all done and dusted now, although getting wires through to the console is going to be a a little more tricky.

you dont need to drill a hole.
if memory serves me well then in the drivers side where the cables pass though into the cabin area is a grommet, you can get the cables through there, ive done alarms etc through there before with no probs
