    removing standard skirts from mk4

Had a look under the skirts today in prep for adding my new skirts, i can see that the skirts are held in place by some plastic studs that run the length of the skirt, do these just pop off ? or do i need to snap them off ? after they come off what do i do next ? does the skirt just slide backwards 15mm and drop off ? any other helpful info would be appreciated thanks

push the pins in the center of the plugs in, then pull out the plugs

then just slowly pry away the skirt and it will pop off it's mountings

you will need to buy replacement pins for under the skirt, as the pins will not be useable once the centers have been pushed in

Would also suggest you get the inner clips. They are like elongated number 8's. Some of these usually get broken when you remove the outer clips and pull sharply to remove the skirt. They are not dear and it's well worth getting at least a couple just in case you need them. Nothing worse than finding out you need em on a Sunday afternoon and the Vauxhall dealers shut. Can't remember exactly how many of these clips are installed but seem to think there are 4 to each side. As I said some will break as they seem to be a bit fragile so best be safe and buy at least 2 but would advise 4 to be safe.
