OK, after the incidents with the Corsa being vandalised I did this, so I thought I'd share this advice with people:
I wrote a letter to the local rag, detailing the exact incident and properly slagging off the Police responses. I also referred the our Chief Constable as Mr, instead of his proper title (these little Hitler types thrive on authority, so that gets their backs up).
By detailing the incidents clearly, but withholding my name, it was clear to the Police who had written in. The letter got top on the letters page and most local Police forces monitor their local press for this sort of thing. Once the Chief Constable's office reads things like this they usually pursue it back down the line
We had a patrol car in the area twice over the weekend period, coming about 2 or 3 times on each evening.
There has been a copper ON FOOT  patrol in the area, a ****ing rarity these days.
And finally to top it all, there was a response in the local rag from the Police Inspector for the area. Does that sound like I got some action?
My advice, if you want more help or support from the Police in your area, DON'T write to the Police, write to a newspaper, it looks like they care more for their public image than they do for their public
(Sorry for posting in this section, but it follows on from the Corsa thread which was posted in the General section)
