    Headlight Beam

Just had my headlight units changed under warranty (mk4 1.6 sxi) for the condensation.

But the beam of light doesnt seem right, stonger light one one side and also seeems a bit high. Can i try and adjust these myself rather than takin em back to the dealer ?.

on the old units i had a nice even beam of light on each side ????

    Any ides.

You can have a go yourself bu twiddling the screws on the lights (there are two one of which is under a rubber plud on the slam panel).

But if the dealer fitted them, they should have set them up correctly - sounds like the monkey fitter is employed at your dealer as well.

Give the service manager a ring, take it back and make them do it while you wait, shouldn't be more than a 5 min job..

Yes they are monkey's , heard them revving the cars b*ll*cks off , why need to do that when changing lights !!!!!, probably listening to the twin back box, all the technicians are kids !!!.

swore i would not go again , cos when they were checking the lights for the first time i was waiting for 2 hours !!!!!.

Yup, sound like they need re-aiming, I done this myself but couldn't get it exactly right, garage re-aimed them for free when it was serviced. Result: they are much better now.

I asked about getting my headlights changed for the condesation problem but the dealer said they would leave the engine running for 30-45 mins with the headlights on main beam to see if its warranty.

Well of course the ******** condensation is gonna go then........ morons :x

The beam is also sh1t on mine, lights up about 2 car lengths in front, well known issue apparently

I got mine reaimed at at local independant garage - only cost £4 a side, while you wait and watch a 'qualified mechainc' do the work. Improved the aim no end.
