Very Bad Brake Fade? Is It Dangerous?

    Alright guys/girls

I changed my front discs and pads about 1500-2000 miles ago, in the last few months, they have started squealing high pitched every time I brake.

Now, in the last two weeks, after about 20 minutes of driving, when I brake, It sounds like ABS is kicking in, but I donít have ABS, this noise sounds like its coming from the drivers front side.

When I touch the discs they are really really hot, my other 16v brakes on my MK3 never ever got this hot?

Itís been into the garage, and all they did was clean the drums and make my hand brake better,

When I had the new discs and pads changed, they didnít bleed the rear, just the front, could this cause this?

    Thanks.

could be a siezed caliper, the disk is hot because the pad isnt releaseing from the disk due to the caliper being siezed, the ABS thingy could be due to a warped disk due to heat generated from the stuck caliper.

get em to strip down front brakes, bet they find 4 pads with cracks straight thru the centre, and discs that are heat coloured.

when cold the pads and disks will be smaller, as heat is generated the disks and pads enlarge slightly due to heat, this will probably be enough to make the problem noticable. and they might be alright one side and blueish on the other, as UK_engineer says best to strip each side down and examine the parts for heat damage
