Welcome to the site mate, What you are after is achievable, but you are looking at around a grand for a velos torqe tube, and chip, ect. that should see around 125bhp, TBH I would consider getting the 1.8 16v version, as it isnt much more on the insurance, the bhp is 125, and 115 on the early versions I think. +disk brakes all round.

As for styling have a look in the Astra sport gallery for Ideas, and if you need help, just ask and some one on here is bound to know.

for the price of tunning it would be cheaper to just get the 1.8 to start with imo

    Cheers "Astra16v".
I agree cal. Im new on the astra scene and this will be my second car, i thought the induction filter and straight thru zorst route would of gime 20bhp. Im off to a dealer now, if i can get a 1.8 i will but bear in mind im just 19 (well on tuesday) so insurance is an issue.
Ive got a quote on a 1.6sxi for 1150.00 under my name which i think is okay, so we'll see if i can push a 1.8.
    Cheers for advice guys.

Hello mate and welcome to AS

I agree, better to start with a 1.8, more potential

the 1.8 is only a couple of groups higher than the 1.6 16v. I regret not getting the 1.8 tbh, but the 1.6 16v is a good car, just dont expect it to be a sports car.

And 20bhp from zorst and filter is a little enthusiastic, 5-7 bhp is more realistic I would say.

i think youll find velos will not be doing the torq tube or inlet plenum for the mk4 astra the drive by wire throttle bodie is to heavy and causes the seam weld on the plenum to come away, not good
