    Rear brake assembly query...

    Hello,

I had the rear brake assembly changed (pipes, pistons, calipers etc) about a year ago on my Mk4 Sport after the infamous squeaky brake syndrome but was wondering whether anyone knows if the vibration dampers and other bits and pieces are fitted along with the rest of the kit?

My rear right still squeaks, pretty infrequently and only at very slow speeds (eg crawling in traffic) or if I do a tight right turn at slow speed (turning onto the driveway).

Its not become a big enough irritation for me to take it in but I was curious... (thinking about it, its got an extended warranty so I might take it in anyways...)

    Cheers
    Mat

    Hola!

If you got an extended warrantee then I’d let someone else worry about it TBH. This seems to be a common problem with a lot of car owners at the minute and not just the Astra ones. I'd say it's either time for new brake pads at the rear or they've collected so much rubbish from the roads, they simply need striping down and covering in copper grease.

9 out of 10 owners said their brakes preferred it
