Speedo says im moving when im not

I was sitting at the lights when i noticed the rev counter dropped while at the same time the speedo went up to about 10 mph altho i was stationary. Anybody got any ideas what it is and how much im lookin at to get it sorted. cheers

The Astra's speedo takes a while to return to zero.

My 1.6 SXi does weird things aswell. Sometimes i can stop at lights etc & the revs drop off really low, like almost to stalling point, not really noticed anything with speedo though. Only seems to do it when cold though :?

Take a trip to VX and check it with a tech2.
    Probably its a faulty ABS-sensor.
Seems to be a common problem on the Astra G.

my speedo does this all the time - vaux said its just a normal thing they do.

1 time i was sat in the car watching it record up to 90mph and the milage was slowly increasing too when all i was doing was eating a burger parked in a car park.

i had this problem with mine as Techwolf said it came down to a problem with the ABS/TC sensor in the front hub, it can also be caused by power surges from the alternator
