    Fuel Consumption ...

Just a query about fuel consumption of my car.

Putting £30 fuel in the car from when the fuel gauge was flashing till it was flashing again I covered 220 miles on that £30. Is that good for a V6? What average miles per gallon is that?

    Cheers.

    Hello,

    a gallon is 4.571428571litres
it's 76.9p per litre which is about 39 litres for 30 squid
39 litres works out about 8.53 Gallons of petrol.
So if you devide 220miles by 8.53 gallons... 25.79miles/gallon
Which is not TOO bad for a v6. a friend's Omega 2.5 v6 does about 23-28 miles to the gallon depending on how much he pushes it.

Hazman you must have a very heavy foot... unless if petrol in your area is over 95p/litre

    Ciao,

I had a 1.8L auto for 1 week and did 300k's and used the entire tank of fuel (48L, there was only 4 left) so i think THAT's a heavy right foot!!!

[edit - this is in km's.... ~187miles for 48L of fuel!]
