    Number plate retention

Anyone know if the 105 fee to retain a plate is for as long as required , or is it like the extension of numberplate assignment, and requires an additional 25 a year?

I think it has to be kept up annually, as my Dad's boss transfers his plate onto the works van if he is waiting to change a car

running out of cars without private plates on!! - will find a suitable candidate for it. Its only an Irish plate - prob not worth more than 100, so might be as cheap to start again

Its 80 pound to put the reg on a certificate and assuming you don't assign it to a vehicle in one year, a further 25 pound per year.

the fee applies for retention held numberplates. so as long as its assigned to a car it doesnt cost anything additional to own it.
