    speed bump problem!!!

    Hi,
I have an astra coupe turbo (standard) and if I go over a speed bump at about 10mph i get a scrubbing noise coming from the front. I have taken it into vaux and they replaced the suspention top mounts but this has not cured it. so i got it on some ramps and had a look, there are scrape marks on the plastic bits(dont know what they are) behind the wheels.

It didn't do this when i had the car, has this happend to anyone else?
    If so what is it?

If not ill have to get it back down to vaux or just drive Extremely slow over speed bumps.

    Any help would be appreciated

dunno if mine does it.... if i go over any of the speed bumps round here at more than 5 bloody miles an hour i nearly hit the roof anyway...

don't know what would be causing that, but if the wheels scrub on the back of the wheel arch doesn't that mean they must have some fore/aft play in them? that doesn't sound like a particularly great thing to be having!

I have to ease mine over the bumps, otherwise when the suspension compresses as the car drops down it scrapes (it sounds exhaust like, so not too bad).

Glad I sold the Megane Coupe before they put in the speed bumps That was so low I couldn't get it onto garage ramps or down sloping driveways

Is it the mudflaps which might be catching?
