    astra 1.8sri or 2.0sri

Hi everyone im new to this forum, dident know how much people like the astra thought it was only me, only seen one in ipswich with any mods,

anyway i drive a 1.4 16v i corsa sport its my first car but im 6 4" so its a bit small, Im thinking of getting a 2 door astra bigger than 1.6 but not 2.0 turbo as im only 17, what would be better the 1.8 or the 2.0 sri or the 2.2 all without turbo.

can any one give me a link to some astra mk 4 kits.

2.2 is the best of the 3. 2.0 has more torque than the 1.8 but on the move they're pretty much the same.

Oh I should add that the 1.8 isn't tunable in any real way, where as the 2.0 and 2.2 are.

cuz of m age insurance is a bitch (17) when you say the 1.8 is not very tuneable, I would only really put a boxbox induction kit and concentrate on the styling wheels and ICE. Surly a bax box and induction kit would add a small amout of trottle response and most of all souund and look good, if i had a 2.0 what sort of things could i do to improve proformance in a big way?

I've got the 1.8 mate - mine is only Insurance Group 7. And with a panel filter, destricting the airbox and a full system second hand it's given the car nearly 10bhp extra so these things do help the engine. The newer 1.8s come with 125bhp as standard. If you were going for tuning in a bigger way get a 1.6_16v SXi 100bhp IG 5 and loads more mods available to get bigger power.

Get a 1.8 125bhp SXi/SRi. Nice cars and will respond to your limited tuning quite well.

Loads of styling stuff for the mk IV too

Get a 2.2 and buy a coupe, it does not have a sun roof as standard, so you will enjoy the extra head room.
