need opinions on alpine type r, s and e subs.

my boot install will include two subs. iam not clued up a great deal on ice and thought that because the type r were alpines top line of subs, these would be the ones to go for.

after chatting to the local ice guru i was told i would be wasting my time with type r's as it would cost a fortune to amp them adequately. he then started talking bout the type e sub. now my logic would say that these would be pants because they are entry level subs? what do you think?

also, for example what would be a good choice of alpine amplifier to power two of these subs? wether it be the type r, s or e?

as i said though it needs to be alpine as it is as much about cosmetic purpose as well as sound quality. please share any knowledge / experience with this range!
    Cheers Rich.

I know a guy with 2 12" type s subs running off alpine mrd-m300 (i think??). Sounds good but it's really pushing amp to the max, I'd prob go for the m500 amp for that but more power.
