    Which brake pads?

After someone recommending I should buy some brake pads and get them fitted rather than get them done by a main dealer, I need to know the best pads to go for.

I was hoping for black diamond but have now found these:

    Are they any good?

    If not... any recommendations?

I've used EBC Greenstuff in the past and they are good pads, but do seem to run hot and can sometimes warp discs.

I've always found that the compounds which Vauxhall use are pretty good TBH and unless uprating the discs at the same time I'd stick with these

    Pure astra... "...18", EBC, K&N..."

Guessing I should learn from your mistake with those ones then?

Steve... I was going to stick with original ones but they give off dust. How much would I be looking at for vauxhall to replace all 4 pads?

By the way, any news on the footwell LEDs?

I didnt think that there was much improvment in changing pads and discs to performance ones, only when you increase the size of the rotors

By changing the pad material, you can still get good performance out of them.

I'd say EBC street pads. Shouldn't make the disc blue (anything >400 degrees C). But warping depends on how long u take to cool the rotors down after a few quick stops.

Anyone know of any pads that dont give off as much dust? I spent all day removing the wheels and cleaning them inside out only to have them completly covered in break dust again within a couple of days. What I dont understand is, all the other cars with alloys I had suffered no were near as much with this problem?

Lightning... main reason I want to stay away from vauxhall pads is due to the dust. Really annoying when the alloys cost so much.

I like the sound of the Ferodos but £80 for 2x pads sounds a lot whereas I could get a full set of EBC from www.needforspeed.co.uk for around £50.

Pagid rarely seem to get a mention in these things, cant recomend them more highly, I started using them after a mate with an Evo recomended them and never going back, the fast road ones work perectly from the first time use the brake pedal to get a bit of heat in them and mine are still more than 50% their after 20k.
