Well, this was a nice surprise.....

Had my 40k service monday night.

It was like another first service cos of the new engine

But as some of you know i was awaiting a good talking to when i went to pick it up.......

Rah rah rah, wheels, suspension MOT blah blah blah. :x

    But to my surprise.............

    Nothing!!!!!

The guy said it was a lovely car and that he really appreciates the work done to it.

Fair enough the guy I spoke to was one of the better ones, and has never moaned at me, but it was nice none the less.

They took special care of it, especially when jacking it up

And followed my bonnet opening instructions as they should.

Shes running really nicely now too, so all in all a happy customer.

F G Barnes of Maidstone by the way

Only thing is, they couldnt solve my steering column knock :? :?

Said it happens on a lot of the Vectras, but never had it on an Astra,
so I guess im gonna have to live with it.

Anyhow, really chuffed I was, and lots of pretty Vauxhall stamps in my book too, including the bodywork checks.

    Nic one.

I have not gone back to F G Barnes since then did some welding on the exhaust, which invoved releasing some brackets that were bolted onto the gearbox. They did not put the bolts back in - the first time I realised there was a problem (about 3 months later) when I could not select some of the gears. When I had a look the next day, in the daylight - there was only 2 bolts holding the gearbox on!!

I phoned them up and they said prove it was them. The car was only serviced by them about 2 months previous to this.

Anyway - I dont work near there anymore - so I go to Pomphery's in Sittingbourne. One of the mechanics is a Vxlscc member and he makes sure it is looked after it when it goes there. Last time they adjusted all the washer jets correctly, and the door check straps etc.

got to fetch mine now they have had my car since 9 oclock only ot tell me that The seat Hight adjuster needs replacing (told them that last week) and I need new bulbs for my fog lights and the cheaky sods fitted them with out getting authorisation of me prioir.

£30 inclusive for two bulbs to be fitted. Told them that they havent had authorisation of me to carry out the work so take em back out.
Reason for price they said and why they charged so much. Because they had to lift the car. Bloody hell they have hydrallic lifts. Aint that difficult is it. And this is the same reason why I can not fitted em myself? and they never heard of taking the bumper off?
