    I like multiple choice.

    The answer is b) digital.

What software are you going to use? or do you intend to write your own?! (there are some in the works on sourceforge).

    Cheers,

know where i can get the port wiring diagram?! got one for the carlton 24v but not astra mk4.
yeh im gonna make my own software hooked to my screen to display, revs, watertemp, airtemp oil temp blah blah! out with the old dials in with a new display!

The output from the sensors (temp, lamda etc) are analog but taping into those would be a waste when you can read all the info out of the ecu via the OBD-II port.

...but if you want to make a microprocessor system to read from all the various sensors I guess that is one way of doing it.

Put a computer in your car with a 7" LCD screen running some software like this www.scantool.net or this www.autotap.com .... make nightrider look old school

    Under the handbrake.

Don't expect the PC to provide you with live data of the sensor inputs etc. The Astra is not a race car, the ECU was never designed to work with telemetry systems. If it did your car would probably cost as much as a Maclaren F1
