    Breakdown Cover

    Okey Dokey. At present I have no breakdown cover. Seeing as I don't know my a**e from my elbow when it comes to car maintenance, I reckon it would be a good idea to get covered.

    SOOOOOOO. My question is;

    AA, RAC, Greenflag, etc, etc,

    who should I go with? Anyone had good experiences/bad experiences.

    I'm with AA and have never had a problem. My other half is with RAC who we found aren't as good as they contract out to smaller local companies. AA use all their own vans and their own staff.

    AA are good but are expensive, also they do have a lot of conditions of us.

    If you bank with Barclays you can upgrade your current account to give you full Green Flag cover.

    I am with the RAC becouse i get it cheep with my job, there ok but Im tempted to try the AA. You have to be carefull as a lot of the other breakdown covers are little more than a transporter home. The like of green flag, Direct line, and others seem to just sub contract the work out to local pickup tucks that are ill equiped to actualy fix your car, many dont even bother trying. Theres no way on earth green flag will repair a clutch cable on the road side where as the AA will certainly give it a go.
    Thats what you pay for!

    i am with the RAC and out of phonning them about 8 times in the last 4 years an actulal RAC van came out twice, the rest were grease monkie subbies who dont even bother trying to fix it

    "where to son" and then scrape your wheels with their clamps to hold the car on the wagon :roll:

    I use RAC as they did me a good deal when I transferred off my Dads policy. They are pretty good and as they use local firms around our area they are faster than AA (who don't). I know there are cowboy firms about, but they seem to die pretty quick in our neck of the woods.

    I get free AA cover from my Vauxhall dealer. It gets renewed with every service free of charge.
