    pvd panel, how much oil?

    how do I oil my filter, and how much do i use and how long do I leave it?

    so whats this about oiling the filter ? i had a pipercross on my last car and when i washed it used to spray it with this spay stuff it that what u mean ?

    i just sprayed it till it was all covered and shiny didnt say in the instructions how much to use so i just gussed had it on for nearly 2 years
    never did any damage (til i hit a stone wall head on) ops:

    just let it sit and dry a bit before u put it back in the car

    Probably a bit late now but you should be carefull spraying it. A lot of people have had trouble with the air flow meters after spraying too much oil on the filter. If theres an exsess of oil it can be carried by the induction air to the flow sensor, this can cause it to fail and your engine to start running bad air/fuel mixtures or just fail outright.

    You should spray a little oil on the open side of the filter (the bottom of hte filter when in place) and No oil on the top of the filter. This should help to prevent damage to the air mass meter.

    As a precaution I would run the car for a few hundred miles, then check the intake pipes AFTER the filter and clean out any oil which is in there.

    DON'T try to clean out the AFM, you can break it very very easily

    Me too. £140 later it was all fixed and the warning light went out
