is it possable to fit a decat pipe to an ecotec engine 1.8 16v ecotec to be precise , cant find one anywhere wondered if it was possable or does it affect the engine in some way , hopefully just more power ?
Should result in more power. It wouldn't pass an MOT though.
If u fit a de-cat pipe you will have to re-fit the cat for MOT time, then swap it back over once its passed the emissions test.
can you replace the cat with a better cat to get more power?
Yeah deffo. Both Regal & Courtenay do Sports CatsOriginally Posted by divma
well i know of three people with decats and all say it didnt make a noticable difference, so given that a sports cat is just slightly less restricted than a standard cat i would assume this to be an expensive mod with low results.
then again if you decided to bang on a 4 brancher, decat and full stainless system together i would imagine they would compliment each other well enough for a good increase in performance?

You can't change things like that on an ECU controlled engine, the ECU alters everything itself so that it is clean & running properly .... In theory neways :roll:Originally Posted by greenlightracer
yea u wont need to re tune the car will adjust for u and on a corsa when i fitted a decat to me m8s it made loads of diff get an induction kit and full s/s ur well sorted
4 branch only increase airflow for top end results so if ur after acceleration dnt get 1
