    16'' Softstars (56k Warning)

Iíve only just bought my self an Astra G SXi 1.6 16v, which came with the standard alloys from Vauxhall.

I have my old MK3 Astra 1.4i 8v LS, but on the car I have 16Ē soft stars:

    This is my new SXi:

    Iíve got a few questions,

The Soft stars are 195/45/R16 with Uni-Royal tires on, Will I get a bumpy ride and feel every bump in the road like I did in my MK3?

If I will get the bumpy ride, Iíll leave the standard alloys on.

As Iíll take comfort before style.

Plus can anybody show me their G with 16" Soft stars on, I bet they look wicked

The newer SXi's came with 16s anyway so surely there shouldn't be much difference in the ride. :?:

I've got aftermarket 17's on my mk4 sxi. It came with 15's a bit like yours but i can't tell any difference after the upgrade.

The wheels I have actually seem lighter so the car is faster. You may find the same with the 16" wheels.

Smaller sidewall means the tyre absorbs less road imperfections.

Alloy mass is also further away from the hub making the wheel require a far large force to accelerate it.

Your car will be bumpier and slower.

    The wheels look fantastic.

    Your call.

If youve got both cars and wheels why not try it?

I had 18's on my MK4 Astra with 35 profile tyres and it was fine.

The MK4 suspension is compleatly different from a MK3, it handles and absorbs bumps so much better.
