    Phone contracts

I have been with O2 for a few years now and upgraded my Nokia 8310 to a Panasonic GD87 about 2 months ago. I wish I hadn't changed from Nokia now and although I don't mind the new phone I wish I had gone for a nokia instead.
I went into the O2 shop and asked when I would be able to change my phone back to Nokia and they said it would be another 12months as I signed up for another contract when I upgraded.

My question is, is there any way I can get a different handset, I cant cancel my contract and start again.

Any ideas? Will I get a choice of new replacement phones if mine mysteriously gets stolen or something.

You can buy any handset you like and use it! However it will cost you a lot of money (£300ish) maybe more. Or you could buy a phone off of ebay that has been unlocked and use that instead.

if the phone you want is on pay as you go then you can buy that. an o2 or vodafone one will work with your sim card, it works out cheaper than buying a brand new sim free mobile.

It is insured but apparently if it myteriously just happens to go missing then they will replace it like for like.

I am with Singlepoint for my Vodafone contract, and they gave me a list of phones to choose from when I went to Phones 4 U to get my replacement.

Just dont mysteriously lose your phone on licensed premises (they dont like that) or shopping centres.

Plus if you lose your phone, claim off the insurance, and then find your old phone again. That will be useless, and it will be blocked on all networks.
