    Mk3 Dying on me!

I have had this problem on and off for about 3-4months now and I have finally had enough of it.

When driving the car seems to not be running as it should and on some jouneys it stutters when accelerating. When i come to a junction and step on the clutch it seems to lose revs and cuts out altogether! This only happens intermittently and i can never judge when its going to happen.

I have taken it to 3 different garages now and when at Vauxhall last week they said they couldnt find any fault but had cleaned the crank shaft sensor and engine earths and ever since then it has been running really well.

Last night though the engine management light came on the engine cut out when i slowed. It kept starting but then cuitting out again and again. But when i came to drive it to work this morning it drove like there was nothing wrong with it.

Sorry for the long post but its really starting to get to me now and i want it sorted asap but dont know what to sort!

Anybody have any ideas im in desperate need of some help!

If you do a fault code check it will tell you exactly what it is that has failed.

I have tried on of these by putting a piece of wire in the fuse box like you told me and the engine management light did not flash as it is supposed to.

Vauxhall have linked it up to Tech1 and that showed up no faults either. :?: :?: :?:

Exactly the same prob on my 1.6 ecotec.

It was the EGR valve, it drove me mad....it was losing revs and dying at every poxy junction.

I knew it was that for sure because, i went straight into where i used to work and plugged the tech 1 in myself.....which saved me £30.

Tech 1 must be coming up with something at least.

If the engine management light comes on then a fault code will be stored... I'm suprised that the paperclip procudure didn't prove anything?

Do you have a Engine Comp in your car?
