    VX220 engine mods into 2.2 SRi ????

Looking at this months Total Vauxhall and they are doing features on engine tuning for the VX220 (Z22SE), which is all very good. But what they don't tell you is if these mods can be applied to the 2.2 SRi, which again seems to get ignored!!!
What I'm not sure about is whether the engine bay on the SRi restricts some fitting of additional modifications for the Z22SE?
Both Courtenay and Regal advertise engine upgrades for the VX220, but again don't seem to advertise that they can be applied to the 2.2 SRi?
The reason I ask is that I am seriously thinking of having a DBILAS inlet manifold fitted if it is possible (and Bastuck exhaust, which if anybody has one can they recommend it!!!!), I know it would be easy to phone Courtenay or Regal to find out, but I was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this......................

    Anybody.............

    Cheers

I think more than anything theres more of a market for tuning with the vx220 owners than the astra 2.2 owners . The engine bay in the vx220 is tight

The likes of the Mantzel (I believe they do one as well) and Dbilas inlet manifolds for the VX 2.2 won't fit the Astra 2.2 because the VX has the manifold the other way around, so the air comes in from the 'wrong' end. If you wanted to relocate the battery in the engine bay then it probably would fit, but the wiring loom is obviously different on the VX as well. Major hassle for probably not a lot of power gains

Regals are the people to talk to for 2.2 tuning. Not cheap though and it spoils the 2.2's musical engine note.

Start with the usual. Induction and exhaust. Bastuck are good, but are expensive, and heavy, as clokem will testify ! - sign of quality IMO though !

Cams for the VX220 will go into the 2.2 SRi, however, the engine is knida reversed on the Vx (as rightly said above) so TB's wont go on, without major hassle !

    Supercharger/Turbo BIG £££

However, exhaust, Induction and Cams could see 20-30bhp increase, which is always nice !
