    astra g sri spec

    shall be buying one of these after christmas, either a 1.8 or 2.0 depending on the insurance quote.

    what features do they come with? probably get a 2000 reg one.
    aircon? leccy windows? cruise control? etc etc

    how come the 2.0 16v SRi didnt come with cruise control then, whereas the 1.8 and 2.2 did?

    Not all the 1.8s came with it. It was an option I think on the early ones.

    minx - how do you find the 1.8 sri? ive heard mixed things about them. i hear the gearbox is very poor.

    is it a close ratio box?

    Yes its a close ratio gearbox which helps make it nippier than the 2.0.

    My gearbox doesn't seem too bad, doesn't bother me often.

    don't forget there are two 1.8 engines, the older one is only 115bhp, were as the newer one is 125, and an all round much better engine, apparently.

    can't be sure when they changed, but it would of been somewhere in 2000

    September 2000 was the changeover date between the 115 and the 125 engines. Hadn't someone on here tested the 125 against the 115? :?:
