    HELP __ Headlights and stuff

Found out that hella quad headlights are cheaper on the continent and am getting a set with xenon for the extra few quid. Now can anyone tell me if they will be the same or ok to pass an MOT test in the UK as they will almost definately be Europe spec!!!

    URGENT!!

    Cheers

First of all E marked equipment isn't necessarily legal in the uk contary to what the sellers of modified rear lights would have you belive.

If the quad lights you have bought are european spec, will the dipped bean not project onto the wrong side of the road at oncoming traffic? You need to ensure that the beam can be adjusted to the left far enough to suit driving on the left as opposed to the right in eourpe.

Other than that you should be alright. Check with your supplier that they can be adjusted sufficently.

I had LHD headlights from Hella/Irmscher on my Nova. They can be adjusted to work in the UK, but the beam pattern is ******* when you do, as they are designed to dip the wrong way.

In retrospect I would have bought the UK versions, as the lights looked good but were useless on country roads

if they are hella quads mate you can adjust them, when i got my hellas they were set for l/h drive cars, 2 screws later and a quick twist and it was set for r/h drive easy as that, you dont even remove the screws just losen then tightnen up when finished, but they will need alligning

The glass pattern in LHD headlights diffuses the beam to the right hand side. If you adjust them to work for RHD driving they are legal, but the long range beam is very poor
