    Best headlight bulbs?

    I'm after some new headlight bulbs for my Astra MkIV.

    I want something bluey if possible so can anyone recommend some to me?

    Also, what colour sidelights can I get away with? I heard any colour is fine but have also heard that different colours can make them illegal etc.

    Can anyone shed any light on this?

    give Chris at Autobulbs Direct a call (02380 276530) as he has just sold me some road legal (HID Look) xenon bulbs. This includes:

    1 x set Main beam (2 bulbs)
    1 x set dipped beam (2 bulbs)
    1 x set sidelights (2 bulbs)
    1 x set silver indicator (2 bulbs)

    all this for £35 + postage (£2.50)

    They advertise on Ebay under the search 'xenon bulbs' and the kit is called something like 'astra mkIV xenon bulb kit'

    If you call and he asks were you got his number from please qoute: Tim Smith, Holbury.

    (*Prices may change without notice)

    After reading the eBay page they say they produce a white light which isn't the HID look as that's more blue.

    Have you seen them for realy by any chance as I prefer the blue colour.

    Sam's bulbs are the best I've used for the HID effect. HID are normally putting out more light as well, so the 100w rating of the SBA bulbs means they look authentic. Especially when I sort out my next lighting mod (Top Secret until it is perfected!)

    Hmmm... could it be a helicopter searchlight for when *****s cut you up? I'd love one of those to blind them!

    Man-chun... have e-mailed you asking what I need to ask the Canadian company for? I did e-mail them but they never got back to me. Didn't realise they were canadian at the time so they probably didn't even know what an Astra was

    Nah, there output is 5100K which is a light intensity rating i think :?. Which is only 100k higher than the one's below it . The cops would think you got the newer HID type of light

    5100 Kelvin is the colour temperature not the brightness. White light can have different "warmths". A bit more red/yellow makes white light appear "warmer". A bit more blue and light appears "cool". This can be quantitatively assessed by the assigning of a colour temperature, given in degrees Kelvin. Think of colour temperature as the colour of a block of iron as it is heated to various high temperatures. A warm, reddish light is around 3500 degrees Kelvin, and above 6000 degrees Kelvin the light takes on a bluish tone. Sunlight is somewhere around 5000 degrees Kelvin.

    Hence 100w bulbs arnt really nessesary to achive the blue light that you are refering to. I have a full set of 5100Kelvin lights that are only 55W and 65W depending on weather there dipped or main beam. I decided on these bulbs as they are slightly more road leagal and if nothing else they might be a little more considerate to other road users.

    When we where traveling back from the recent birmingham meet, I was following several freinds and they never lost track of me even in the dark whilst several cars back. They said the headlights where so distinctive it was pretty hard to loess me in there rear veiw mirrors.

    SO there you have it, great looking bulbs at a freindly wattage, and best yet, there really not that expensive if you buy them from this guy!

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2441126847

    You need to order the following bulbs:-
    H7 = Dipped beam
    9005 = Main beam
    H3 = Fog lights

    I Hope this helps shed a little light on your enquires (no pun intended)

    Adam
