    Bit Embarrassed

Tonight I was on my way home from a mates house when I saw a moonstone blue 306 hdi giving some down the duel carriageway past me so decided to pursue, was pritty standard looked lowered and looked like it had 18s, anyway I knew I was faster than him on the carriage way so I just stayed fairly close behind him. Then had my indicator on to turn off home and he put his hazards on so I decided to follow a bit more. We took a series of country roads which I am fairly formilia with but clearly not as well as him but he was pulling so much out of me on the corners I couldn't believe it and my tc light was coming on and I was sliding cos it was wet and hasn't rained for a week so fairly greasy roads so I am thinking the standard Michelins are a bit toss on the SRI. I probably would have been a bit more confident in the dry but was a bit more careful than need be tonight because I didn’t want to smash my car after all the effort I put into getting it. Having owned a 306 myself they do handle pritty well but do 18s really make that difference or am I a crap driver?

There's also quite a few HDi's running some fairly big power, as far as I know it's not hard to get 130bhp out of them and with a bit more cash I think 160bhp is possible.

EDIT:- And of course there's the associated massive hikes in torque when you start to increase the bhp. Visit www.peugeot-gti.net and look for a guy called Galv or Neil Chalton, they both have/had pretty damn quick HDi's. That's of course if you are really that bothered!!!!!

I think the 18's on the 306 reduce it's handling capabilities, but they still handle well, my old one used to hug the corners pretty well and that was on standard suspension.
