did you ask the cops to enquire into the garage where you got it from?

they might decover that one of them has a little history of car theft ect

just out of intrest, How do you steel an Astra without a key? I mean the Imobilizer is tied into the ecu isnt it? Do the swap the ecu? I dont understand. I need to know so i can prevent it happeneing to me

get a big truck that picks cars up, lift it onto truck and drive off

Not much you can do about it really , and 9 times out of 10 no one will ever question them if they look like break down or clampers.

invest in a tracker, then at least they may find it.

nowadays car theifs are different, they'l either break into the house for the keys, hi jak or somthin similar, as manufacturer immobs are hard to get into, almost imposible

or as mat said they'l just pick it up with a truck

on another note, i went out earlier to get some shopin, i was doin a 3 point turn, when some ***** in a new bmw 330 ci coupe overtakes me and speeds off, it had a smashed quarter window(bag over it) and J-plate numberplates which i doubt were private, as the back one was stuck on bent

goes to show, ***ers

thanks for the response lads especially the luton and beds people who are going to keep an eye out

to get a few things straigh its not actually my car is my mates who lives round the corner...mine stays nice and warm in a garage,
anyway its actually a vauxhall fleet car so he doesnt actually own the car...hence he has only got to pay 100 quid and everything is sorted, he has lost nothing apart from what was in the car.

the mystery was how the car was stolen of course due to the immobiliser and alarm, my mate now thinks that he may not even of locked it!!! so he cant blame anyone. Although the car is parked well off any roads in a bay at the end of a close so i think the people who done it had been looking at the car for a while and knew it was there just a bonus for them it was bloody open (stupid sod)!!
