    window tinting

I was planning to tint the windows on my mk4 at the weekend and i set about trying to remove the inside of the door to see if i could get the glass out of the door to apply the tint but i could'nt, i just couldnt figure out how to get the window. Has anyone else done this that could give me some advice. I have a 5 door 1.6 with manual windows.

    Help would be appreciated

    Nrj don't know.

What are you stuck on taking the door card off or have you done that?

What door? front or rear? as big difference in glass removal,

best thing to do is get a haynes manual, cost ya £12-£15 but you won't break anything then, as it tells you where everything hidden is.

    tinting

well i have only started trying to get the door card off the drivers side.
I can get all the screws and clips, but there is a row of silver clips along the top of the door card and i cant get them off without bending them and
    wrecking them

have you got the handle off? as this has a horseshoe clip, then the card should pull off if you've done all the other screws.

iv tinted front and rear windows on my 5dr, didnt take off door panels or take glass out, but their tinted all over and it looks as if i have taken them out to do.
u just cut the templates bigger then make it go into all the slits around the window so its completly covered.

you just need to give it a good pull from where them clips are or lever it off from top while someone holds card outwards from the bottom - be careful not to scratch! PS if you're taking the window off just for tinting you're gonna find out that it will be a lot easier to tint but impossible to put the window back in without creasing the tint film as it's quite tight to put it back!
