Where is the bleed valve ?

I have heard that you can gain more power by fiddling with the bleed valve.

But where is it located on the Z20LET Engine ?

I would have guessed it's the black box thingy with torx heads near the actuator.

I wonder if there is a restrictor in the pipework between actuator/turbo ?

I guess the black thingy is actually a BPC (Boost pressure control solenoid).

I have been looking into manual boost controllers, and they can possibly be installed in two ways.

Either between the wastegate and the BPC, or between the BPC and the turbo. You also may need to block off the std bleed opening in the BPC.

I just want to know how to get a decent level of boost (12psi) without spending a fortune.

Manual boost controllers seem to do just that, and hold boost levels better.
