    Opinion whether to keep car.

Ok guys, last nite I hit a deer whilst doing about 60mph.
As you can guess the damage is quite major.

So the question is after making 3 claims this year on the car should I just give up and sell it now (without claiming)

Or get it fixed on the insurance and sell it (insurance would go through the roof as i'm paying £1500 already)

Or fix it and keep it and try to afford it - Most likely would only get fixed back to standard.

If I do sell it and I can afford to drive still what car should I get etc.

Peeps views required on this 1.

P.s. Damage is New bonnet, headlight, bumper, grill and wing minimum but could have gone a lot deeper i suppose.

I think fixing your car without using your insurance would be the best bet. Find a cheap but good body shop, using second hand parts from a scrappy, and have them repair the damage. After sell it ... but you will have to sell it for slightly less due to the circumstances.

I had much the same damage done to the front of another car I had in the past, and it didn't cost that much. The body shop should be able to beat the wing back into shape. I think you'll just have to buy another bonnet, V grill, bumper and headlight.

A bumper from the scrappy will be from £50 - £100.

Get a quote from a body-shop before anything else, then work out from that quote if it would be worth it, then make your mind up from that.

Don't do any claiming on your insurance ... you'll be lucky to insure anything decent next time.

    Good luck mate.

Arnt the wings bolt on? If so, just do it all yourself. Go to a scrapper and get a wing, bonnet and bumper, bolt em all on and if needs be, take it for painting. Cheep as chips good buddy.

national speed limit road - very wide and could see for miles so was motoring well.

Deer just jumped straight over a hedge and onto my bonnet.

The deer was quite dead - I had small peices of deer internals caught in my wheel arch when i got home.

And it had spread its insides all across the road - so yep it was dead.

And nope the deer was not insured - lol

Im looking to get it back on the road again without using insurance - but what i want to do is find another coupe bumper with the irmy splitter or maybe something completely different.

I think I shall have to do it up proper this time and keep it but if anything else happens ...

Well anyways, any1 got a nice front end for sale ??

Wing may go back to shape - bonnet may aswell.

Also, coupe headlights would go down well, if not then the near side light from a standard hatch.

Anyways cheers for the advice guys - i shall be getting the damage looked at closer soon - hopefully. And I think now is the time for the big re-spray...What do u think ??

Pete had put up a short post to sell a standard coupe bumper, think it was a front one. I'm sure there are plenty of standard grills about from the Irmy grill group buy. Worth staying away from insurance if you can.
    Good luck mate
