    Fitting an Irmscher steering wheel

How do you go about this? Is it a job for a dealer, or is it something you could tackle yourself?

    Follow these instructions!

1- Disconnect battery, leave bonnet open, DO NOT HAVE YOUR KEYS ANYWHERE NEAR THE IGNITION.

2 - Wait a couple of minutes, have a cup of tea!

3 - (Know you dont have to do this, but it may help) Remove red pin from plug under drivers and passengers seat - remove plug!

4 - Two screws on the back face of the wheel, unscrew

5 - This will loosen the air bag pad for removal - be careful, remove airbag pad, disconnect airbag wiring (noting which way it was wrapped round), disconnect remote stereo controls.

6 - place pad somewhere safe,

7 - Mark on the column with a file top centre.

    8 - remove wheel

    9 - fit new wheel

10 - follow instructions on air bag pad casing for re-fitting of air bag unit!

    11 - consult a dealer!!!! LOL

Should be easy, if your unsure, contact a dealer!

(I've done it, took about 30mins)

    Also A little tip!!

when you have removed the airbag place it on the ground facing upwards i.e. vauxhall badge showing.

This stops it firing into orbit if it should accidently go off.

    Cool thanks for your help.

Do you know whether use the standard steering wheel controls?

I don't think I would attempt it myself. I think it's best left to the dealer.
