Fitting Nokia CARK91 to Astra G

    Hello to all AS members!!

I've just bought a nearly new Astra SRI after owning a Corsa C for 2 years, and very happy I am too.

I am also the proud owner of a genuine nokia cark91 kit from Ebay and I need a little help on the installation into my Astra.

The installation guide is not much use, and I need to know which wires connect to where on the Astra loom/fuse box.

Has anyone installed one of these in their car recently??

    Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers

'Tis the clip in version. The one with the large, pretty ugly plastic holder.

you can get an adaptor lead which goes between the radio and the loom which will power the kit and mute the radio.

Installed and then since removed a fully-integrated car kit for old Nokia 6210 in my last car. Pretty much a piece of piss - you should have about half a dozen wires if I remember - all different colours yeah? Could be completely different. Guy I knew who used to do the installs for the company I used to work for got the fitting time down to about 20-30 mins... but he did do it for a living.

chrisiboy :- The kit for a 6210 is the exact same as mine (I have a 6310). Can you remember what the wiring diagram is for connecting it to the astra loom?

farmer :- The adapter lead you speak about - where can you get them from and how much?

Rightyo... might haveta refresh myself a little. The blue wire is definately for your radio-in mute thingy. The red+yellow should be lives and black ground (nothing unusual there). I've got a feeling there's more - let me know what the wire colours were and I'll have a betta idea. The rest of the kit should be plug n play (ariel, cradle, speaker, mic). Technically it should work with just that lot wired up - do you have the external speaker or ability to integrate via your speakers?

    Right

IGNORE all the wires colours I said

All these wires can be connected to a spare multi connector behind the glove box on the far left hand side.

Use a multi meter to test all the wires as I can't remember all the colours the only thing is do remember is that the phone mute and Asseccory colour is the same :?

The mute is labelled on the pinouts sticker on top of the radio. Follow that out of the plug.

    red +12v
    black - ground

I bought a dashmount bracket of ebay. it clips in at the side of the dash and the cradle bolts onto it. super job. no holes in the dash. I can take a pic of it if you want
