    Dastek ecu

When i was at Crail on Sunday i spoke to a guy that owned Dastek. He says he can put a gain of around 20bhp on my car for the price of £300 + vat.

Now i was a bit sceptical about this claim, however what he said next is what intrested me :?

He said he would run my car on the rollers before fitting it and after, and if i didnt feel their was a big gain (i.e. the 20 bhp) he would remove it and not charge me a penny

I then said that rolling roads can sometimes be in-acurate, so he says they do a one month money back garentee.

I i feel after i have paid for it that there is no power gain i have one month to return it, no questions asked, money back

    What do you think?

Seems quite a lot of improvement for just a chip/ecu.
But also sounds quite good as a try before you buy

Just noticed, they're in Dalgety Bay only 10 mins away from me.
Let us know if you go for it

This type of ecu is a piggy back and has to splice into the org' loom near the ECU so will invalidate the warranty if you still have that.

A guy is selling one on mig for £150.

Gains are usually nearer upto 10bhp but some XE's have been know to gain 30bhp.

Also there is an issue with the limp home moad of the car not working due to the piggy back unit and will need towing instead to daslek as vaux can't over ride it either with out removing the unit.
