Serious problems with rear brake lights!!! HELP

Now I know a lot about cars, but this has got me stuck, big time!!!

My brake lights are staying on permanently, they wont go out! Only just started this evening!!!!

I'm asuming that the switch that denotes the light coming on and off, has fried (or similar)!!!

Any one else noticed this / had this problem.....and how do I fix it!???

The brakes themselves dont stay on, so whats up!!!???

    Cheers peeps

check the brake light/tail light bulbs, the bulbs are at the top of the lights and the one bulb controls the both functions. If one of the two wires short inside the bulb then it causes the brake light bulb to stay on. it may have even come loose slightly

    good luck paul

I had a similar prob on the old"G". It was the unit which is housed above the pedals apparantley it can be adjusted as Vauxhall did mine in about 10 minutes.

Not too sure where this part is, just above the pedals somewhere.

Hope this helps a bit mate.

I had a very similar problem, it turned out to be a dodgy bulb in the end. I used 2 get my replacement bulbs from A1 motorstores, but they were wot woz causing my problem, went 2 a vauxhall dealer, bought a bulb (was cheaper neways) and it has been fine ever since & that was 4 months ago
