    Air Filter & Oil Clean

    Hi chaps.

I want to give my valves/tappets a clean (heard of people calling it top end treatment) and wondered if anyone knew of any additives that would do the job. I've heard Wynn's, STP and Redex do such products but are they any good?

I've also heard of stuff you put on and around the spark plugs and wondered if anyone knew anythink about this?

Also, I'm thinking of getting a replacement filter element for my MK3 2.0 16v Astra and wondered which is best and what other people have done to theirs? Is this airbox drilling of holes a good idea as well or not?

I also wanted to know what the best exhaust would be for my car for performance. I want a stainless one and if possible would like it to be legal for MOT's etc.

    Thanks for your help. Brian

If yours is a red top engine then get an induction kit, if it is an ecotec then get a panel filter and mod the box(take out the internal pipes), don't drill the box as it will start to suck in too much hot air.

Janspeed still make a good exhaust for the mk3, jetex are top quality, scorpion i've had and had problems with welds snapping(4 times) so I won't recommend them but they are excellent apart from that(lifetime warranty is a joke).

If you want to be legal for MOT's don't remove the cat.

A true de-carbon of the head involves removing it, if you just want an additive the best I have ever used is available at Renault dealer ships, it comes in a silver bottle, part no 77 11 ??? 172 if I remember rightly.

    Multi-function Display

    Thanks for your replys.

Does anyone know if the Multi-function display that is in the Mk 3 Astra GSI will go into any of the other Astras. I,ve got a 2.0 16v CDX Ecotec X20XEV and wondered if i had the capability of using it?

Is it just the GSI or does the sport have it... etc?

    Thanks, Brian

I've got it in the sport.

PVD now sell the trip computer that does 10 functions and only costs £159, it's better then the sport/gsi option
